My First Emmy Award!

Boy what a night!

During my time at Beyond Pix I got to work with some of the most talented passionate people I've ever met. Sean (pictured above) is one of those people.

Sean, who was one of the Producers I worked with, asked me to edit an NHRA concept commercial spot to use for a pitch to Sonoma Raceway for their upcoming race season. Of course I said yes, Sonoma Raceway loved the concept and signed off on the Ad. Originally, I was not the Editor for these Ad campaign’s, a good friend of mine was, but Sean got permission to bring just this one project to me to see it through till the end. The best part was, this was the commercial Sean used out of the whole ad campaign to submit to the Emmy’s for consideration, and it’s what we won with.

It's a little mind blowing considering I was a 26 year old film school drop and just won an Emmy...

I went up against people who have been working their butt's off for years, creative hard working broadcast veterans. I felt a little awestruck at the whole thing and wondered how I got there. Beyond the practical reasons of how I got to that point, this is where I give all the glory to God. I know it’s because of Him these opportunities were given to me and I’m so grateful. And In the words of Sean, "Thanks to the God of all things great and small!" (He said that for me during our acceptance speech, Thank you Sean!)
